1)  The Bible says that Jesus is the only way to Heaven.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.  -- John 14:6

2)  The Bible says that we have all messed up, we have done something wrong, we have all
sinned.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ... -- Romans 3:23

3)  When sin came into the world, death came with it.

For the wages of sin is death, BUT the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  --
Romans 6:23

4)  Even though we messed up , God had a plan.  He didn't give up on us, He provided the
perfect sacrifice in His Son, Jesus.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for
us.  -- Romans 5:8

5)  All we have to do is accept the gift that God has given us.  We have to believe that
Jesus died for us and confess it with our mouths.

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and
are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  -- Romans 10:9-10

6)  It's that simple!

CONFESS Jesus as Lord

I want to take a moment to define what it means to "make Jesus the Lord of your
life".  The word Lord is defined as "master, having authority over."  When you
accept Jesus as Your Savior, the Bible says that you must confess Him as Lord.  
You must be willing to turn your life over to Him and live by His directions (the
Bible).  This is a catching point for many people who want the free gift but don't
want anyone telling them how to live.  Jesus gave His life for you and has shown
you the perfect way to live.  It would be foolish not to follow after Him.  Jesus
doesn't expect immediate perfection.  Even after you accept Christ, you will make
mistakes.  That is humanity.  The difference is that with Jesus as Savior, God sees
you like He sees Jesus -- perfect.  God knows that we cannot be perfect, His Son
died because of this.  God expects us to follow Jesus' example as closely as
possible, to have a constant desire to follow Him and let Him lead our lives.

For, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." -- Romans 10:13

Dear Lord, I know that I have messed up and fallen short of what you expected me to be.  
I am a sinner.  But I believe what the Bible says about Your Son, Jesus.  I believe that He
died for my sin so that I could have eternal life in Heaven.  I want to accept that gift and
ask Jesus to forgive me and be my Savior.  Lord, help to stop sinning against you, to
study the Bible so that I know what is right, and live for You forever more.  Amen
